About the Author
Clive Shearer has many accomplishments as a writer, artist, traveler and sportsman. He came to America in 1976 as a young, British trained structural engineer. He gained professional licenses in five western states, practicing until the close of 1982.
At that time he embarked on a new career-consulting, training and facilitating management teams in marketing and workplace communications. He earned registration as a counselor in the state of Washington.
Shearer has now turned his attention to travel writing. During a lifetime of travel in Europe, he has experienced almost all modes of travel and accommodation. His abilities and background give this book an engineer's eye for detail, a counselor's gift for communication and a writer's ability to make you chuckle as you blaze a trail through the pitfalls and pleasures of European travel.
As a writer, Shearer has 200 published articles to his credit and is the author of Practical Continuous Improvement for Professional Services (1994) and a contributing author for the Facility Manager's Operations and Maintenance Handbook (1998)
A talented artist, Shearer created all of the sketches, the map of Europe and the cover collage for this book.
