Book Description
Gay London is more than just a scene listing. Four distinct pairs of eyes give London the once-over; each author offers their insights into how a gay man might enjoy the pleasures of the city, from the downright sceney to the more esoteric. Gay London offers all a man might need - a dazzling range of aesthetic, offbeat, cultural and hedonistic activities, including little-known history of homosexuals in the capital, and not forgetting the joys of infiltrating the straight world. Whether you only come out at night or your gay life is a 24-hour affair, the authors have catered for all tastes: a chill-out at DTPM, an indulgence at the Glyndebourne experience, shopping from Soho to St James', or a pursuit of the less spectral figures in Abney Park or Brompton cemeteries. Samuel Johnson would surely agree that a gay man who tires of London is not tired of life, but only in need of a tan.
