About the Author
Walter G. Cowan is a retired reporter and editor of New Orleans newspapers. Charles L "Pie" Dufour was a columnist for the NEW ORLEANS STATES ITEM. John C. Chase was a nationally known cartoonist and author of FRENCHMEN, DESIRE, GOOD CHILDREN, AND OTHER STREETS OF NEW ORLEANS. O.K. LeBlanc is a public relations consultant and former editor of the MARINE CORPS GAZETTE. John Wilds was an editor and writer for the NEW ORLEANS STATES ITEM and the author of several books, including LOUISIANA YESTERDAY AND TODAY, which he wrote with Cowan and Dufour.
