About the Author

Fiona Dunlop's peripatetic life has led her from the Australian beaches of her birth to an upbringing in London, and subsequent stints in Italy, Monte Carlo, and Paris. She has written widely for numerous magazines and national newspapers (including the Observer, Guardian, Financial Times, CNN Traveler, and Spain Magazine, among others). She has written travel guides to India, Indonesia, Singapore & Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico, Costa Rica, and southern Africa. In between her more exotic travels, she has regularly visited Andalucía to write articles and books in what she considers to be the optimum conditions, combining sol y sombra (sun and shade), not to mention tapas. Her main base is now in London. She is also the author of the National Geographic Traveler: Spain guidebook.
