Book Description
Building and maintaining a successful track and field program doesn't happen by chance. And one book is the best bet for making it happen. From planning, organizing, training, and motivating, Coaching Track & Field Successfully offers a comprehensive guide to conducting a winning program.

Season planning. Event coaching. Meet preparation. Postmeet analysis. Athlete-coach communication. This book covers all the issues a coach must effectively address in building and maintaining a championship program. Coaching Track & Field Successfully offers coaches a special look from inside one of the winningest programs in sport, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, which has claimed 15 Division III national championships since 1986.

Guthrie teaches the essential techniques of the sport, provides simple training programs, and presents a wealth of vital information needed to build a high-caliber team. His teaching progressions, event-specific technical instruction and tips on planning for big events make Coaching Track & Field Successfully the critical resource coaches need to take their teams to the top.
