Book Description
Poisonous Plants are the number 1 cause of poisoning of children less than 5 years old. Surprised? The Index Medicus was used to collect all of the articles concerning plant poisoning in humans in the medical literature for a decade [1967-1977]. The result was a total of 95 plants that had caused human poisoning severe enough to justify published articles in the medical literature. This book was written to specifically address that problem. All of these plants are discussed in this book. Color pictures, most of which were made at the Smithsonian, common and scientific names and discussions of each plant are included. Signs and symptoms, as well as the treatment recommended in the medical articles. Easy to read and interesting.
