Animal Alternatives, Welfare and Ethics
Editorial Reviews
S. Maastricht, Australian Veterinary Journal
1998 ...On the whole, this collection is enjoyable to read, but I am delighted that many of the authors have provided extensive references, so that when the time limitations of their presentation leave me panting for more, they have provided the mechanism for doing that. I recommend these proceedings to members of ethics committees, animal welfare activists, animal welfare officers, scientists and institutional administrators who deal with the issues of animal research. You will find it informative, enlightening and stimulating.
D. Clark, ATLA, Alternatives to Laboratory Animals Vol. 27
1999 ...This 1200-page volume of the proceedings of the Congress is an outstanding account of an outstanding event...It is difficult to imagine a more comprehensive account of the history, fundamental concerns, state-of-the-art technical details and directions for the future of alternatives in one volume. It is destined to become a classic text.
